In 1986, I founded Bijutsu Shinseisha and have since been engaged in publishing the art magazine Bijutsu Shijō. Having now entrusted those responsibilities to my family, I devote myself quietly—but no less passionately—to the world of art.

In my younger days, I would often feed the stray cats that wandered through our neighborhood. One morning, I awoke to find that a mother cat had chosen to give birth beside my pillow. I took it as a sign of trust—an unspoken understanding that she felt safe in my presence.

Today, I share my home with a dog, a gentle companion welcomed at the request of my wife, who has long been fond of dogs. Yet I still carry a quiet affection for cats, and once our dog has grown a little older, I hope to welcome a feline friend into our lives as well.

These days, I simply go by “art enthusiast”—and, with no less pride, a devoted companion on daily walks with our dog. It is along these quiet paths that I often find inspiration, drawn from both the grace of art and the gentle presence of life at its most sincere.
